I am so stressed right now. I am making myself sit down and focus on something besides college because otherwise I am going to have a nervous breakdown. My life this week is like living in a blender. I work all day every day this week. I have had and still have projects due all week. I have an exam tomorrow and 2 more on Friday. Helloooo, it's only the third week of the quarter!! If the rest of Spring quarter is like this I'm going to go insane. I am having so much trouble praying about it other than "Why is this happening to me, God?" My devotion from this morning (I actually remembered to do it this afternoon) was Psalm 66. It really hit home for me. The author says, (vs. 8-12)
"Oh, bless our God, you peoples!
And make the voice of His praise to be heard,
Who keeps our soul among the living,
And does not allow our feet to be moved.
For You, O God, have tested us;
You have refined us as silver is refined.
You brought us into the net;
You have laid aflliction on our backs.
You have caused men to ride over our heads;
We went through fire and through water;
But You brought us out to rich fulfillment."He blesses God even in difficulties because he know that God is merciful and faithful to bring him through. I struggle so much with this. I tend to blame God for everything that frustrates me. I notice that when I try to handle everything that goes on day to day, on my own, and I don't pray about it, I just get more and more stuck. Placing our trials before Jesus is such a relief, when one remembers to do it... "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."
Ok, when I started writing this post, I was feeling like screaming/crying because I was so stressed about everything that I have to do still today.....Now I am a bit more relaxed. Focusing on this passage kind of helped reorder my priorities. Praise God for everything- even work overload:) - Bring all my problems to Him - Let Him be in control, it works
so much better that way.
